City, University of London was founded in 1894. It is based in the City of London, a member of the University of London federation since 2016, and has nearly 20,000 students (46% at postgraduate level) from more than 160 countries and staff from over 75 countries. City was ranked 7th in the UK for relative graduate starting salaries (The Economist 2017), ranked 4th in London for student satisfaction (2018 UK NSS), and 11th nationally for graduate starting salary (The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019). City is in the top 500 of world universities (Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2020). More than 80% of the research activity of City in the fields of Computer Science and Informatics was assessed as being of internationally excellent or world leading level by the last national research assessment (REF 2014) in the UK.
City participates in this project through the Research Centre of Adaptive Computing Systems (CeNACS). CeNACS conducts research on engineering adaptive computing systems with a special focus on the fundamental control structures and algorithms required for adaptation and the strategies for preserving quality and security properties in this process. Its research has been applied in domains including cloud infrastructures and services, systems involving the use of IoT technologies, systems supporting healthcare and ambient assisted living, and systems supporting the specification and enactment of evidence-based public health decision making models.
